Lock-In/Open House/Shadow Days
Organized events are offered throughout the school
year that gives prospective students a chance to
experience “Mount life” first hand.
An overnight lock-in is generally held in January
for current eighth graders, who are planning to attend
MSM their freshmen year. The “orientation” is
an excellent opportunity for students to get to know
each other, and current MSM students, during a full
night skits, playing games, watching movies, eating
pizza and munching on homemade snacks.
An open house is offered in November of each year,
providing parents and prospective students and opportunity
to tour the school, meet students, faculty and staff,
as well as learn more about the academic and extracurricular
offerings at Mount St. Mary Academy.
Shadow Days are another chance for potential students
to get an inside look at the Mount. Eighth graders
from our feeder schools and other junior high students
spend a morning at MSM, visiting classrooms and touring
the campus. Their visit ends with lunch with their
shadow hostesses.
