Mount St. Mary Academy is proud to announce that Julia Halter ’27 has been recognized by the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) and InnerView in this year’s Community Service Impact Awards.

The Community Service Impact Awards program connects student service to real-world outcomes, skill development, and community needs. This year, Julia was part of a nationwide effort of high school changemakers who collectively invested more than 2.3 million hours of service, equivalent to $78 million in community impact, addressing critical local and global challenges.

“This recognition reflects more than participation, it represents the time, care, and commitment these students are putting into causes that matter to them,” said Kristine Sturgeon, CEO of InnerView. “It’s an honor to support and amplify their work. They’re not only creating impact today, they’re building the skills and confidence that will shape how they lead and contribute for the rest of their lives.”

Julia has volunteered over 50 hours in a classroom setting at both ACCESS and the Allen School through Mount St. Mary Academy’s Junior Service Learning Program this year. However, her commitment to service expands beyond Mount. As one of 31 participants of the 20th Century Club of Little Rock’s Angels of Hope program in 2025-2026, Julia completed more than 100 volunteer hours at the 20th Century Club Lodge and CARTI. Her dedication earned her the Service Above Self Award at the organization’s annual Hope Ball for continuing to volunteer beyond the program’s completion. Additionally, Julia participated in the American Heart Association Sweetheart Program in 2024-2025, during which she completed more than 35 hours of service, raised over $1,500 for cardiovascular health initiatives, and received the Teen of Impact Award. She also completed over 20 service hours through the Arkansas Children’s Hospital ACHievers Program her freshman year.

“While the challenges of our time are real, seeing young people step up reminds us that change is always possible,” said Farah Salim Eck, managing director of the UNA-USA. “We are so proud to partner with InnerView to celebrate these changemakers who are proving that you don’t have to wait for the future to make the world a better, more united place.”
