More than 350 guests gathered in the McAuley Center Gymnasium on Monday, May 11, to honor and celebrate Mount St. Mary Academy’s sports teams, student-athletes and coaching staff during the school’s annual Athletic Banquet.
Coaches introduced their respective teams during the event and presented the traditional awards for each player based on her years of participation. First-year players received a certificate, second-year players were given a MSM letter and symbol of the sports in which they played, third-year players received the coveted lilac sweatshirt with their name and sports monogrammed on the sleeves, and fourth-year players were gifted a wooden memento box engraved with their athletic accomplishments.
The recipients of a handful of special awards, which are selected by MSM athletic staff, were also announced during the banquet. This year’s winners include the following:

Purple Heart Award: Izzy Lunsford ’26
Vassar-West Scholarship: Palmer Hopkins ’28

Sara Fritz Outstanding Student Athletic Training Award: Ana Belle Gutierrez ’26

Most Valuable Freshman Award: Charlotte Stotts ’29
Most Valuable Belle: Carson Vogelpohl ’26
Twenty-five senior student-athletes were recognized as Four-Year Scholars, having participated in athletics for all four years of high school and graduating with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher: Vivian Allmendinger, Mairead Arnold, Lindley Bailey, Vivian Brown, Amelia Byers, Alyssa Carr, Ava Coca, Lindley Dalton, Josephina Ellis, Chloe Freville, Ana Bella Gutierrez, Reese Hanan, Mya Herbold, Julia Jansen, Anna Kate Lipin, Mimi Marlow, Lynley McCollum, Virginia Milwee, Kaylee Moix, Ella Nelson, Simone Price, Gigi Segovia, Adele Uekman, Carson Vogelpohl and Josie Wrape. Alyssa Carr and Carson Vogelpohl were awarded the Top Scholar Athlete Award for maintaining the highest academic average while also participating in the athletic program at Mount St. Mary Academy.
MSM Athletic Director Lane Vassar West ’89 honored the coaching staff at the event, as well, and thanked a handful of coaches departing at the end of the 2025-2026 school for their contributions to their respective sports during their time at Mount. This included the following: Bryan Kehner, Elisha Kehner and Clem Papineau, track and field assistant coaches; Laura Freville, golf head coach; Jeremy Neco, varsity volleyball assistant coach; Jeremy Brooks and Chad Brown, softball assistant coaches; and Tim Glancy, tennis head coach. Special recognition was given to Coach Glancy, who joined Mount St. Mary Academy in 2003 and coached the tennis team for an incredible 23 years. During his tenure, the team earned numerous conference championships along with state titles. Coach Glancy was also named Coach of the Year several times in the 6A conference and by the Arkansas Activities Association.
