Travel

Mount St. Mary regularly offers a handful of travel opportunities, both domestic and international, to its students throughout the year. These trips provide Mount girls with the unique opportunity to expand their learning, experience different parts of the world, and enhance their global awareness.

Close Up

Close Up takes students to Washington, D.C., to give them an up-close look at government in action. Highlights of the week-long adventure include touring monuments, meeting key political figures, hearing from panels, and interacting with other students from around the country. Close Up shows students firsthand what they’ve learned in class and gives them the opportunity to fully experience our nation’s capital as well as consider their roles in our political system today and in the future.

New York Theatre

Students interested in the performing arts are able to take an unforgettable journey to the heart of Broadway through Mount St. Mary Academy's theatre trip to New York City, which provides a personalized odyssey tailored to celebrate the uniqueness of every aspiring performer and theatre enthusiast. Students explore iconic landmarks – the glitz of Times Square, the historical charm of Broadway theaters, and the artistic allure of Central Park – all while immersing themselves in the vibrant energy of the country's theatre capital. This trip allows students to discover and nurture their unique passion for the stage while witnessing the magic of Broadway firsthand.

Belles Abroad

For students wanting to travel beyond our nation’s borders, the Belles Abroad travel program explores various countries, languages, and cultures throughout the world. Each summer it partners with EF Educational Tours to offer an international trip open to Mount’s newest class of rising seniors. During this class trip, students visit major sites as well as immerse themselves in the language and culture through various activities, whether it’s perfume making in France or tracing their roots back to the ancient Romans. Recent trips have included stops in the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Scotland, and England. Travelers on the trip being planned for Summer 2024 will get to experience Vienna, Prague, Munich, and Zurich!
