“I am very excited to work with this group of students, chosen by their peers, to serve the MSM community as next year’s Student Council,” Terri Files, MSM theology teacher and student council sponsor, exclaimed. “They are a talented, dedicated and energetic group who will represent the mission of our school through their leadership and service.”

Next year’s student body president echoed Mrs. Files’ excitement. “I’m really looking forward to working alongside the amazing girls elected to Student Council, as each and every one of them brings something special to the table,” senior Amaria Love said. “My goal as a council is to address any issues or concerns the student body may have while also improving and implementing new ideas. Ultimately, I hope together we can continue the standard of excellence, service, leadership and kindness that makes MSM the best school we know of.”

As the elected representatives of the student body, Student Council members traditionally help coordinate and promote school events while also overseeing the execution of class projects to assist in furthering the mission of Mount St. Mary. The group coordinates the school’s large-scale canned food drive, Robin Hood Days, each fall. Its huge success year after year is a testament to Student Council’s leadership, hard work and enthusiasm.

Officers for the freshman class will be elected later this fall.
